The community gathers on Saturday mornings for the weekly Farmers Market held in the growing season. Other events include the Arts on the Green, an annual antique car show, Oldham County Day, and the Bluegrass Film Festival.  

Prospect and Goshen are situated near the Ohio River along Highway 42, which is an official Kentucky’s Scenic Byway, and CNN names Crestwood as one of the “Top 100 Best Places to Live 2005”. Pewee Valley is the gateway to Oldham County and the closest town to neighboring Louisville. It was home to author Anne Fellows Johnston, celebrated author of children's and juvenile fiction from the 1890s and best known for her "Little Colonel" series, novels dealing with the aristocracy of old Kentucky. 

Right next door, in Louisville, you’ll enjoy all of the amenities of a big city – fine restaurants, shopping, sports, arts, entertainment, and museums. Famous for the Kentucky Derby, Churchill Downs racetrack offers year-round events and activities. Louisville is also known for its Louisville Slugger bat factory. Visitors can tour the factory and visit the Slugger Museum. The Muhammad Ali Center is an international cultural and educational facility that is inspired by the ideals of its visionary founder Muhammad Ali. Louisville also has its own ballet, orchestra, regional repertory theatre, children's theatre, opera, dinner theatre and Shakespeare festival. Waterfront Park provides easy access to the Ohio River, plus plenty of green space for outdoor events and activities, like concerts and cultural celebrations.
